MbMJ Backstage.

Great shots from WWD at the backstage "controlled chaos" from Marc by Marc Jacobs SS 2013 during NYFW.

I love the turbans, still haven't incorporated them into my easy-peasy wardrobe (not sure why the hell not), but this is inspiration from the top.

Double Take

The menswear shows don't necessarily spark quite the excitement deep in my soul that the womenswear shows do, but I thought this was a interesting take on Dries Van Noten's Fall 2012 menswear show from the Sartorialist (my everyone's perpetual muse).

Sometimes setting takes clothing & fashion to a whole other level. The set of photos by Scott Schuman- the Sartorialist for those of you living under a rock- add a new element to the show with its live street artists performing in the background and a wider view of the intense graphic graffiti.

The first set of photos are Sartorialist shots and the second set are typical Style.com images of the Dries Fall show. Something is missing in the latter... No?

Dance, Dance

What a great video of the fashion savvy attendees at this years Spring/Summer shows! Awkward, yet endearing, leg-shaking to Pitbull's track outside the Lincoln Center. The inspiration? Lanvin's ad campaign with Raquel Zimmerman and Karen Elson.

Hey, as far as I know, no one in the fashion industry has claimed to be the next MJ.

Tommy Boy

Between his photos on Style.com and personal blog, Jak & Jil, I have been getting a lot of summer wardrobe inspiration from Tommy Ton.

Color.

Colorful furs on the Gucci fall/winter 2011 runways lends a hand to gangster-chic pimpettes that I am totally digging. I'm looking forward to another winter season with my
vintage maroon rabbit fur jacket-
complete with mafioso shoulder pads- to keep me warm and toasty during next year's cold weather days and nights.

Backstage.

A good VIP treatment is a game changer, or so I've heard, specifically the ability to go backstage. While I am not privy to this treatment, WWD is. I find great peace of mind in these backstage photographs from Jil Sander's F/W 2011 runway show. They are not so invasive into the inner sanctum of the fashion elite's private mayhem pre-show, but give a glimpse. And it appears to be rather peaceful.
