Pedicab Delight

Ok so get this, there is a pedicab (a rickshaw type contraption, peddled by a human being while chubby/drunk tourists/students go along for the ride in the attached backseat) that is upholstered in Louis Vuitton monogrammed fabric roaming the streets somewhere around the town of San Diego! I just read about it on Refinery 29, and let me tell you, it is a sight for sore eyes. The obviously counterfeit print was given an extra bedazzling with undercarriage lights, beaming like the luxury knock-off day-glow savior of our modern day. I can't wait until this (kinda) sartorial savvy entrepreneur makes a whole fleet of LV pedis and ships a few over to the East Coast. P.S. If you're lucky enough to be in the area and you happen upon this miraculous form of public transportation... The driver's name is Tony.

Biker Bar

Tonight I tried a new local spot for dinner with le boyfriend... Peter's Inn. Over the holidays a neighbor had mentioned, while passing time with the ubiquitous elevator chat, that there was this great small restaurant/bar in Fells Point that used to be a biker bar back in the 80s and 90s, and has since transformed into a coveted dining destination for local foodies.

The place is a bit disconcerting at first glance, situated on a darker side street in the historic, and therefore old, neighborhood in Baltimore. Even le boyfriend was hesitant to go in, but, like books, you can't judge a restaurant by its cover. Inside was itty bitty. Probably 7 tables total with a long bar that took up 2/3 of the front space. The decor is hysterical, I noted a Christmas light covered swordfish, prothetic legs, and Christ paintings covering the walls. The food? Delicious and relatively inexpensive. AND the restaurant strives for the farm to table mentality that is ever present and all the rage in hip restaurants these days. The handwritten menu changes weekly, after the "harvest" is gathered, and you can sign up here for email updates that come out every Monday with the new menu for the week. I got the Duck Confit over frisee with lardons and pears in a tarragon vinaigrette. Le boy got the Lamb Chops in a bordelaise sauce over mashed potatoes. Very tasty, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an off-the-beaten path restaurant in Baltimore.
