Graffi-Couture

A feast for your eyes… The photo shoot, titled “Graffi-Couture” from the November 2009 issue of Vogue Paris, is so titillating and eye catching that you can't help but feel fully satisfied after viewing it. Featuring supermodel Raquel Zimmerman in futuristic, and altogether Gaga-esque couture pieces, poised in front of graffiti clad walls designed by NYC based artist KAWS. Zimmerman's long lean limbs are a perfect canvas for the super mini dresses and hot pants, and thigh high over-the-knee Louboutin boots. I especially love the very tongue in cheek cloud-like white gown set in front of graffiti rain clouds. It lends an air of humor to the over the top, edgy shoot, which already evokes a cartoon-like feeling from the drastic runway styling. Vogue stylist Emmanuelle Alt and photographer Mario Sorrenti have collaborated to create a visually appetizing photoshoot that is as hard to ignore as in your face graffiti on the side of a building.
