Deep.

Grudges are for Kids.
I don't remember where I found this image but the truth in its statement couldn't be more real. I myself am very guilty of holding grudges, and it is something I have to actively work at to better myself and the relationships I make with others. Deep, I know.

Backstage.

A good VIP treatment is a game changer, or so I've heard, specifically the ability to go backstage. While I am not privy to this treatment, WWD is. I find great peace of mind in these backstage photographs from Jil Sander's F/W 2011 runway show. They are not so invasive into the inner sanctum of the fashion elite's private mayhem pre-show, but give a glimpse. And it appears to be rather peaceful.

Bright Idea

I received a rather inspiring marketing email from one of my favorite online retailers, Shop Bop. I love the styling of the "5 runway personalities"- inspired by the spring runway shows last fall. The prep, the bohemian, ladylike, downtown and classic styles in bright spring hues really pops. J'adore!

Inspired Youth

My friend Analeigh sent me the link and I could not resist, especially with the purchase of my new Alexander Wang dress from the Barney's Warehouse sale this weekend. I had to post this adorable image of his niece... Reminds me a bit of this Street Peeper image, could it be sartorial foreshadowing?
Perhaps.

Bakers Dozen

Spent the afternoon baking for my love... Actually, I was baking more for myself seeing that le boyfriend doesn't eat sweets, but that is besides the point. I had to, it's just a little something to make tomorrow a touch sweeter. (Disclaimer~ If you see me in the next couple of days I will most likely try to pawn one or two off on you.)

Special thanks goes out to Pillsbury Funfetti cake mix, mini heart-shaped foil cake pans, pink V-day icing and red glitter gel- and Target's comprehensive Valentine's Day section.

The Good Life

"Let us toast to animal pleasures, to escapism, to rain on the roof and instant coffee, to unemployment insurance and library cards, to absinthe and good-hearted landlords, to music and warm bodies and contraceptives... and to the ‘good life,’ whatever it is and wherever it happens to be." ~Hunter S. Thompson

Objets Trouvés

*******
What a fantastic find! Philippe Roucou's silk scarves are my newest obsession of the moment. His square scarves are printed with found abandoned polaroid images and designed in conjunction with artist M. ChĂ©rie. I love the stories captured in time- the intrinsic everyday notion turned into a beautiful accessory. 100% silk scarves available here for €200.

White Out.

Vogue Spain February 2011... a take on the white trend for spring that was all over the runways. With looks from Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana and Celine the white lace and rock and roll mix is very hot. Which reminds me... H&M is coming out with an all white eco-friendly line in April. True story and perfect timing.

Outfit to Love

Transitions... Winter has been so unforgiving this year, and my skin is craving some Vitamin D. But, I'm planning to layer up and keep warm until I can peel off my clothes better then strippers on the block. I know, I could have also referenced it to feeling like an onion- but strippers are much more... colorful?

Happiness.

Feather Brain

This idea just tickled me. Feather hair extensions! Maybe it is my previous, elementary school love, for hair wraps- you know the kind you could get on the OC boardwalk, the rastafarian would wrap a braided section of hair with multi colored threads, typically in navajo or African inspired patterns, and ended the glorious concoction with plastic beads. OR maybe it's my secret hidden love for all things hippie and different. Whatever the reason I sweat this trend hard, like doing sprints in the gym.

Yes, this is the hair wrap's sophisticated boho older cousin. Refinery29 featured this little secret hair weapon accessory a few weeks ago. NYC based handbag and jewelry designer Wendy Nichol offers the service in her Soho studio/boutique for a mere $45, takes only 10 minutes and the extensions are said to last up to one month. Me loves. Not only that, Nichol has said,
"The feathers are sourced responsibly, the colors are all-natural, and come from farm-raised happy birds." ... Me really loves!
Next time I'm up in NYC, I'm making a bee-line to Nichol's studio.
