Vintage.

Dior evening gown shot for Harper's Bazaar

Aren't these old vintage photographs, by photog Louis Dahl-Wolf, fabulous? There is so much glamour and mystique to the women being shot... all circa 1950s

The images make me want to cinch up my corset, throw on my evening gown and kitten heels and go ballroom dancing... Alas, I will settle for Indian cuisine at the Ambassador Dining Room in Baltimore tonight.

A girl can dream.

Lookbook.

Some of you may know that I am a part time fashion blogger for an up-and-coming online retailer ENVI Shoes. (Ahem, shamless plug.) Some of you may not. Anywho, a couple of weeks ago we enlisted the extremely good looks of model Paige Creighton to be the face of our first ever lookbook for Spring 2011! We were focusing on the capsule collection from Jeffrey Campbell, PINK ROCK, and the finished product watrès chic.

Here are a few snap shots of the finished product... View the entire lookbook on ENVI's blog.

Nippon

I say "Hell Yeah!" to anything Anna Della Russo. She is a creative fashion genius, and anything she styles turns to sartorial gold. Take for instance the newest, March 2011, issue of Vogue Nippon (Japan) with Karmen Pedaru starring in The Look Says It All editorial. Big hair, sailboats and birdcages? AND each outfit from a different designer? Yes please.

Wedgie

I am lusting after quite a few pairs of wedges for spring. They are such a practical heel for any occasion, from everyday errand running to shakin' your thang on the dance floor. My Cynthia Vincent for Target wedges (an amazing thrift purchase last spring, at $29.99 a pop I should have bought 20 pairs!) are sadly on their last leg. That's what pleather does to you... makes you think you're invincible, then WHAM! Shoes are falling apart like last years Christmas tree.

Anyone of these will be a sufficient replacement to mend the deep hole in my heart closet. Obvi, the Chloe's are my fave!

Christian Louboutin "Chus" wedge $455 at Barneys

Chloe "Two-Piece" wedge $895 at Barneys

YSL "Tweed Platform" wedge $695 at Barneys

Alexander Wang "Kasia Whipstitch" wedge $550 at Shopbop

Jean Michael Casbat "Ashanti" platform wedge $295 at Shopbop

Peachy Keen

The Golden Globes were this past Sunday (Duh!) and after reviewing the Red Carpet Watch on Style.com there were a few color trends. One being kelly green, a beautiful shade on brunettes, and striking against the red carpet. But... there was another color on the red carpet that grabbed my attention MORE for spring 2011. Peach! Glorious Georgia Peach. Maybe it was my recent trip to Atlanta that sparked my tizzy over this hue, but after seeing a handful of leading ladies donning the juicy sorbet trend I need to get my hands on a shade... or two.

Pretty little things...

Here are a few behind the scenes pictures of an upcoming photo shoot I'm working on... Can't tell what it's for yet but it will launch in March 2011. So keep a look out!

Lone Ranger

Check this out... A lone Prada "store" in the Lone-Star state of Texas, situated just on the outskirts of the town of Marfa on Route 90. The store is actually an art installation, sans customers or sales people, and consisting of only 20 left-foot shoes and 6 handbags from the Fall/Winter 2005 collection- the same season this installment was resurrected. German artists Elmgree and Dragset built the installation as a "pop architectural land art project", designed to weather the elements and serve as a sort of fashion time capsule. but without much of a plan for longevity. I read that although the building has proper structural support the building materials are all environmentally friendly and biodegradable, and will allow the structure to eventually "melt" into the surrounding landscape with time. I would love to roadtrip and see this lonely, and extremely random ode to fashion before it's too late. Anyone own an RV? Or maybe I'll just have one shipped from Snail Trail across the pond.

Cruising

I'm imagining my trip to visit a friend in the Cayman Islands wearing this entire Louis Vuitton 2011 cruise collection. These clothes are so retro and sophisticated. Femininity and grace that actually looks comfortable. I'm more of a t-shirt and jeans girl, but on vacation I love to dress the part. In theme, if you will. Marc Jacobs frequently hits the nail on the head between his three lines, but occasionally one is more desirable then others. J'Adore!
